Danish Chips Competence Centre Hosts Seminar on Semiconductor Innovation
1 October 2025
A recent seminar hosted by the Danish Chips Competence Centre (DKCCC) at the Danish Technical University, DTU, in Copenhagen brought together researchers and industry engineers for an open and practical discussion on the future of semiconductor technology. The event stood out for its authentic format, with participants focusing on real-world technologies, toolchains, and practical applications of microchips and semiconductors.
The Danish Chips Competence Centre was established to strengthen Denmark’s role in semiconductor research and development. By creating a platform where academia, industry, and policymakers can collaborate, DKCCC aims to ensure that Denmark not only keeps pace with global advances but also contributes to shaping the future of the sector.
In the words of EKTOS’ Co-founder and Director, Niels Martin Jørgensen, who was one of the participants in the panel discussion, “This seminar was great: a low-key, keeping-it-real type of event. Actual researchers and industry engineers presented factual topics, from tool chains to real-life use, and how to tap into the resources of DKCCC. I welcome more events like this.”
He added, “Most people accept that microchips are vital for practically any machine, device, or service. But the real magnitude of their importance is not always understood. Denmark must continue investing in semiconductor R&D to stay competitive.”
The network, headed by Claus Friis Pedersen, continues to plan initiatives designed to provide participants with both technical insights and networking opportunities, reinforcing DKCCC’s role as a hub for collaboration and innovation in Denmark’s growing semiconductor ecosystem.
